Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question you don’t see here? Please call or text us @ 210-800-1212 or email us at [email protected] and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Don’t worry, we don’t bite!

Do I need my pool cleaned when it’s too cold to use?

Yes! We all wish we could just ignore our pool when the weather is too cold to use it but unfortunately the cost of neglecting it far out ways paying for regular service. Your water chemistry is constantly changing and if not monitored closely and adjusted accordingly it can do irreversible damage to your pool surface and equipment. If any organic matter sits on the pool surface for too long, it can permanently stain the pool. There are a number of other great reasons to continue weekly service, but these are the most critical.

How do I know if my filter needs cleaned?

The two main indicators of a dirty filter are a reduced flow through your return jets or water features and a higher than normal reading on your filter pressure gauge. If your flow is reduced too much and the water does not turn over at least once a day you run a high risk of a green pool occurring.

Why would I use you instead of my current pool service?

If you are happy with your current pool service then by all means stick with someone that you already know and trust. On the other hand, if you current service only shows up occasionally, skips over things they should be taking care of or they are there for just a few minutes and splash some chemicals in and leave then it sounds like it’s time for someone new.

My pool looks green, what should I do?

It is most likely that you have a very large algae bloom in your pool and it needs to be treated in order to prevent damage to your pool and to make the water safe to swim in. At a minimum you will need to super chlorinate your pool as well as, through a water analysis and equipment evaluation, determine and address the root cause.

How long does your service take?

Depending on the size of the pool, the condition, and the service you selected it will take on average from 15 to 30 minutes each week.

Can I clean and maintain the pool myself?

Absolutely, as long as you are checking your water chemistry weekly, making adjustments to it as needed, you are emptying out skimmers and baskets, brushing the walls and ledges, skimming the surface, vacuuming the pools, cleaning your filters, etc. then you can keep your pool looking like new! Don’t know how, we can teach you. Just reach out and ask about our “pool school”.

How often do you come clean my pool with your service?

All of our pool service options are a weekly service. If you need something more frequent or an occasional extra visit, we can usually accommodate that.

How often does the sand need changed in my filter?

The sand in your sand filter typically lasts a very long time and should be changed on average every 5 years. This assumes that you backwash your filter regularly and don’t have a higher than average bathing load in your pool such as a pool party every weekend or regularly have dogs swimming in the pool which can drastically shorten the lifespan of your sand. If you backwash your filter and the pressure is still high, you likely need a sand change.

What is included in the price to service my pool?

Please visit the service section of the website for a detailed list of everything that is included with our weekly cleaning service. If you are looking for something specific and you don’t see it listed here, please reach out to us with your request.

Do I need to do anything between your visits?

Yes! You will need to make sure that you maintain a proper water level in your pool, keep an eye on your pool cleaner to make sure it is functioning on the normal schedule, and alert us to anything out of the ordinary like a leaking filter or noisy pump.

Are you insured?

Yes, we are fully insured. There is very little risk that anything happen to your property while we are servicing your pool, however, out of an abundance of caution we want to make sure that not only are we covered but so are you in the event of an unforeseen issue.

When I swim my eyes sting or my skin gets irritated, what does this mean?

This most likely is an indication that your water chemistry is not properly balanced and needs to be adjusted. In additional to the irritation that you are experiencing, it will also wear out your swimwear faster and more importantly is doing damage to your pools surface and vital equipment.
